It is not just the students, but also teachers feel the need to distract them from the Corona lockdown and to keep the team spirit alive.
For this our new colleague Widya offered us an Indonesian cooking class, in which we made (organic) chicken or vegetarian Sateh! Every Dutch person’s favourite Indonesian dish.
First we had to do some shopping to get typical Indonesian ingredients. Some of these were already in our cupboards, but for example Javanese sugar, kemiri nuts and lime leaves were something new for most of us. Since we wanted the real deal we all raided the local toko, instead of the usual Dutch version of sateh sauce which you can get in the supermarket.
The result was very tasty and the online bonding (using a live Teams session) went very well!
